The Indianapolis Cultural Trail

Dubbed the most “walkable downtown in America,” the Indianapolis Cultural Trail makes it possible, and enjoyable, to work and play without needing a vehicle. Completed in 2013, the 8-mile urban bike and pedestrian path runs through six cultural districts, seamlessly connecting downtown to the city’s top dining, shopping, cultural, and entertainment attractions.

Features

  • Paths are safe, well-lit and marked with unique crosswalk signs.
  • Easily recognizable, trail users can access and follow the trail without the need to search for signs.
  • Dotted with lush-green gardens, well-manicured trees, and an array of public art displays, the 8-mile trail is aesthetically pleasing (no unsightly views of parking lots) and a walker’s paradise.
